The online consultation phase for text amendments and feedback to the Lampedusa Charter is open to the participation of all interested local governments, as well as their networking initiatives and other stakeholders in the global migration movement.
Your inputs will contribute towards the co-creation of the forthcoming final version of the charter.
How can you contribute?
Interested parties can take part in the currently open consultation phase in 2 steps:
1) Direct Feedback to Draft Charter Document 📝
For amendments to the Charter text, you may download here, the MS Word file of the Draft Lampedusa Charter, input your comments and text changes in suggestion mode and email us your revised document at migration@uclg.org
Alternatively, we encourage you to directly input your feedback via comments or in suggestion mode in our Draft Lampedusa Charter Google document.
We recommend that you sign in with your gmail account so that your comments do not remain anonymous.
2) Filling a Questionnaire 📋
We encourage all interested local governments and other key actors to fill out the questionnaire on ‘Forward perspectives towards the migration agenda’ here!
Your territorial perspectives and regional priorities are key to this consultation process, to have a say about the current state of the global movement of local governments towards the migration agenda; on what should be its common aspirations; and how to move forward together in the coming years.
Open contributions can be submitted by any local governments or related initiatives. We encourage participants to send collective contributions gathering more than one local government or related actor perspective.
Open contributions can be submitted in English, French and Spanish.
Write to us with direct inputs and expressions of interest
You can also share with migration@uclg.org key documents and other resources (videos, recordings...) developed by your local government or your network as a contribution.

Besides these different forms of participation, interested members will also be invited to participate in live events at a later stage. The UCLG Meets platform will allow interested local governments to monitor how the process develops and stay tuned for calls to participate in live consultations.
Even though local government contributions will compose the main building block for the process, our coordination team is ready to articulate with existing local government networking initiatives and projects that address directly or indirectly the migratory challenges in urban and intermediary areas.
